Sony Xperia 1 & 10 have been launched at MWC 2019 in Barcelona. The common theme among these devices is the ultra-wide 21:9 aspect rat display.
Sony Xperia 1 Specifications & Features
The flagship smartphone flaunts a 6.5 inch 4K (1644×3840 pixels) HDR OLED Cinema Wide display with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection. The display is powered by Sony’s X1 for the mobile engine. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC that is paired with 6GB of RAM.
For photography, the Xperia 1 features with a triple-camera setup that consists of a 12-megapixel f/1.6 primary sensor, 12-megapixel wide angle sensor and 12-megapixel f/2.4 tertiary sensor. For selfies, there is an 8-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angle lens.
Xperia 1 is backed by a 3300mAH battery with adaptive charging. This comes with Smart Stamina and Stamina Mode. There is a fingerprint sensor for security and on the software front, the dual SIM device run Android 9.0Pie.
Sony calls it the CinemaWide display and uses the X1-style image processing that is used on Bravia TVs for the accurate colour calibration. The phone comes with Dolby Atmos on its stereo speaker setup. The Xperia 1 debuts Sony’s first triple camera setup.
The phone runs on Android 9 Pie and comes with various software features to enhance the gaming as well as the multitasking. The Xperia 1 is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 on both front and rear.
The storage in Sony Experia 1 has 128GB onboard that is expandable via microSD card. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC and USB Type-C. The new model phone will be available in Black, Grey, purple, and white colour options.
Sony Xperia 10 Specifications & Features
The Sony Xperia 10 features a 6-inch full HD+ display with 21:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC that is paired with 3GB of RAM. There is storage of 64GB on offer that can be expanded by using a microSD card.
Other features include dual-camera setup, 13megapixel + 5megapixel at the back, 8megapixel selfie camera and a 2870mAh battery. On the software front, the dual SIM device runs Android Pie out of the box.
Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Google Cast, NFC, USB Type-C and more. Sensors on board include an ambient light sensor, accelerometer, eCompass, magnetometer, step counter, hall sensor, step detector, proximity sensor and significant motor detector.
The phone supports high-resolution audio, DSEE HX, SmartAmplifier, Virtual Phones Technology, Stereo recording. This phone measures at 156x68x8.4mm and weighs 162 grams.
Sony Xperia 1 and 10: Price in India
Sony has not exactly announced the official price for its flagship smartphone. The Xperia 1 is reportedly priced at EUR 799 which is approximately Rs. 74,200. The phone will go on sale later this year.
The Xperia 10, on the other hand, is priced at $349.99 which is approximately Rs.24,800. The phone will be available in Black, Gold, Navy Blue and Silver.
